Types of Appointment

There are currently two types of appointment available:

First Appointment

This is for a new patient at the Birmingham Back Pain Clinic. It comprises a detailed case history, a thorough assessment (usually involving a physical examination) and an initial treatment (if appropriate). As such, it usually takes longer than subsequent (follow-up) appointments, so we allow more time (up to 1 hour) and it costs a little more (see fees). This is only to be booked at your very first appointment at the Clinic.

Follow-up Appointment

This is for patients who have already attended the Clinic at a previous time. This is a treatment session with a routine (re)assessment and appropriate intervention and is scheduled to last up to 40 minutes. See here for current fee.

Practice Hours

Outside of global pandemics, the Clinic is currently operational at the times below, although we endeavour to treat emergency cases sooner, where possible. An appointment must be booked in advance - we do not operate a 'drop-in' service - although same day appointments are usually available. With the exception of public holidays, appointments are normally available between the following times:

Wednesday: 2.00pm-5.00pm

Saturday: 9.00am-12.30pm

Accessibility

Free off-road parking is available in car parks at the front and rear of the building.

Disabled access is available although notice is appreciated for wheelchair access as the clinical room is upstairs.
